IFDC / Netherlands Embassy · 2023 & 2024

HortiNigeria — six-film horticulture series

HortiNigeria, the IFDC-led horticulture programme funded by the Netherlands Embassy, commissioned Latitude Space Africa to produce six films across Lagos, Oyo and Ogun states in December 2023 — documenting smallholder vegetable farmers, agribusiness partners and the programme's work on productivity and market access. In November 2024 the programme returned to us for a second commission.

Lives and Livelihoods Fund Field Visit

The Lives and Livelihoods Fund selected us to document a three-day field visit and project assessment of agro-pastoral work in Kano. The delegation included the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Islamic Development Bank, Qatar Fund for Development, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, and Abu Dhabi Fund for Development. We delivered documentary coverage, professional photography and stakeholder interviews.

A research film for the Clinton Health Access Initiative and Unitaid on histoplasmosis in people living with HIV — translating clinical findings into a film usable by both technical and policy audiences.

Field documentation of Christian Aid's C19 NALPER response across Benue, Kaduna and Borno, and the E4E disaster preparedness programme across three states and nine LGAs — filmed during the pandemic, in difficult field conditions.

ActionAid Nigeria 25th Anniversary

To mark its 25th anniversary, ActionAid Nigeria partnered with us to produce a landmark documentary. After winning the bid on portfolio strength, we sourced and reviewed 25 years of archival footage and documents, built the narrative, and filmed interviews in Abuja alongside virtual interviews across Nigeria and beyond. The film premiered at the official celebration.

Reforming Pretrial Detention in Nigeria

PartnersGlobal awarded us the contract to produce a documentary on pretrial detention reform — a five-year project implemented with the Rule of Law and Empowerment Initiative, the Network of Legal Aid Institutions Nigeria and New-Rule LLC, supported by the US Department of State's Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs. We conducted sensitive interviews across Abuja, navigating filming restrictions around courts and correctional facilities.
